  Shouldn't the literature carts be covered by insurance?

  i mean, they're in a public place and may get blown into someone by the wind, perhaps hurting a child.

  surely because of their position, some kind of public liability insurance or similar should cover the literature carts/trolleys?

  other charities like oxfam require insurance, i'm pretty sure, or a licence..

  I honestly don't believe my local Congregation has taken out insurance for their Carts. Might that be a possibility?

  Jesus fulfilling old testament prophecies like his legs not being broken

  what are everyone's thoughts on this, how his legs weren't broken, he was pierced with a spear and he wore a thorny crown?.

  i'm pimo and very much not wanting to believe, but like the daniel statue prophecies, these ones about jesus stick in my mind and give me "hmmm, maybe" moments..

  They have nowhere else to go!

  i think the overwhelming problem with trying to wake up friends and family is they have nowhere else to go.

  i mean these people all their friends are jws a lot of them their family is jws.

  if they wake up or agree with you in anyway they know instantly that they loose all this, many will even loose jobs.

  I do know what you mean and sure do hope more people are indeed awake, but for me as a PIMO, I find it almost impossible to give a comment in the meeting, gushing with love for Jehovah and the G.B's instructions. If lots of meeting-goers are awake in reality and just go because they don't have any other options, they are very good at acting, vomiting out very righteous comments indeed at the meetings.

  Anxiety, OCD, Hoarding, and the JWs

  i'm noticing what seems to be a higher incidence of the above among the local jws than in the "general" (read: worldly) population.

  i don't say this lightly, my wanderings around the fringes of jw society locally is revealing an alarming trend here.

  the poverty doesn't help (there are good jobs, but you need a degree or qualifications to get one).. anyone else see this?

  I suffer from all of these things very strongly and I put a large percentage of this down to being trapped inside the J.W's for family reasons.

  a load of j.w's in my family and the congregation i attend as a pimo have been saying the end is very close because the anglo american world superpower is clearly still the king of the south, and russia is now clearly king of the north due to persecuting and banning the religion there and seizing property.. i've forgot what the religion used to teach and maybe still does, about the timing of all this king of north + south stuff, the attack on all religion by the u.n and then the attack on j.w's who will be left standing.

  i mean, i thought jehovah was going to put it into the u.n's minds to ban or attack all other religions, then the attack on j.w's, but witnesses seem to think the end is so, so close because russia has banned them.. it's sad, as some dubs i know have sold their homes and made other big decisions so they can pioneer in these 'very last of the last days'..

  Returning to my OP, though, let's just imagine for a moment that we are living in the last of the Last Days, the KOTN has been established as Russia, the KOTS is undoubtedly U.K+U.S. in our minds, and Russia's recent moves are noteworthy.

  There's still a glaring problem, if my understanding is correct.

  I always thought J.W's taught that Jehovah would put it into the governments' minds to attack ALL religion, with the J.W's refusing to give up, hence getting attacked, provoking Jehovah's wrath.

  All this talk of Russian opposition signalling the end is nigh is an attack on the J.W's FIRST, which is the other way round to what they've always taught.

  Like one of your replies said, it's just wishful thinking, clutching at straws, I guess.

  ...in the section where it said unselfishly loving people don't draw attention to themselves but do things anonymously, the thought came to me about why at the conventions do they announce "and now a talk from brother x who has served as an elder and pioneer for twenty years"?

  some say it's encouraging but i have never felt that way..

  Are Beards becoming more acceptable due to decline in membership?

  i noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.

  when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.

  but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.

  Lots of J.W's from other Congregations have visited our Hall in the past month and plenty of them had beards, which surprised me. No idea if they therefore have had their privileges taken away, though.
